Fall Party

My group really enjoyed themselves too! The girls all liked the face painting station (some of them even wanted a second one, but we didnt have time), but I think the most favorite station (possibly of all the groups) was the candy fishing station. It was fun to see the kids cast the lines and get excited when there was a fish with candy on the line when they pulled it back. Hopefully we can get enough people interested in doing this in the coming years so that these kids can enjoy more Fall parties!

Fall Party

Our fall party at the YMCA went really well.  We got everything set up and organized on time.  We ended up having around twenty-five kids and had ourselves plus some of our friends to help.  Four of us took groups of kids around to each station while the other volunteers helped at each station and made sure things went smoothly.  The kids all seemed to have a lot of fun.  The kids in my group were really excited about the prizes and having things to take home with them.  One of the YMCA workers told me that she hadn't seen them so happy in a really long time.  It was really fun!

The Party

I talked to Alyssa at the YMCA today. Alyssa is the head of the Kid's construction Company. She told me that it would be fine to arrive at 2:45 and that there would be a few over 30 kids at the party. I have all of our materials at my apartment and ready to go over to the Y. Please make sure that all of the people who have said they would help with the party are going to be able to still come with us. We'll need to get out of class tomorrow by about 2:15 to make it to the Y in time to set up before the party at 3:30. See you all in class tomorrow.

Arrival at YMCA

Hey guys, I just sent Robin, our contact at the YMCA, an email letting her know that we plan to arrive at their facility between 2:45 and 3:00 on Tuesday to set up for the party.

I think we have transportation figured out but just to make sure I'm listing how each of us plans to make it to the party with the friends we are bringing.

I'm driving - myself, Chris, Niko, and Ryan
Nick is driving - himself, Marissa, Shauna
Ally - herself, Erin
Andrew - himself

If anyone finds something that is incorrect with this, please let me know so that we can figure out what we need to do to make sure everyone gets to the Y on time.

Helpers

Rowdy Racers,

If everyone could list who they have coming to help with out party that would be great.

So far I have help from:
- Marissa Gillett
- Shauna Botlo

Thanks,

Nick

Final Meeting Before Party

Our final meeting before the party is Wednesday the 21st in ENAD at 7:15 PM. Here are a few things I think we need to discuss so this can all run smoothly:

- Make a list of all the materials we have already purchased
- Make a list of materials to be purchased
- Get a final head count of how many workers we will have (us + our friends)
- Assign members to run errands to purchase remaining items
- Make a plan for the day of the party... when we will leave, transportation, who is bringing what materials, who is going to be setting up stations when we get there, etc.
- Fill out Purchase request form so we can get the credit card to buy items

That's all I can think of for now, comment with additional ideas.

Meeting on Friday sounds good to me. I will be out there already, so I can meet the group there. Also, while I was home this weekend I found some stuff we could use for the party. I got some Halloween cups and candy dishes that we had there. We also need to go get our money. I didn't know if everyone would want to be there to hear about the rules of spending our money or if I should just go.

Contact With Robin (YMCA Contact)

I have been trying to contact Robin Virtue for the past week or so but haven't been able to. I wanted to set up a time when we could all go to the YMCA so that everyone could get acquainted with her. I will keep trying to call her and sending her emails. I would like to plan on going to meet her this Friday(Oct. 16th) at noon. I can drive us there if we meet at the union or somewhere else that everyone agrees on. We can talk more about this on Thursday during class.

I think we should all go to the YMCA on Friday even if we can't get a hold of Robin by then because we could still get someone else to show us the room the party will be held in so that we're all on the same page as far as that goes. Let me know what you think about this.
